The trick is to go in looking visibly disabled, then they leave you the hell alone.

I've found that doesn't always work. I'm pretty certain some of the people there have no souls.

I'm technically already on them, but I was getting Railroad Retirement through my dad and my SSI was reduced. However he never set things up for death benefits so when he died I lost my RR (they didn't bother sending me a letter about it either) and my SSI never picked up the slack. I had to call them up and they were superfuckinrude about it, kept interrupting me and shit.

Hate bureaucracies and call centers. If they ever remake that old Orson Welles movie "The Trial" Josef's job will probably be at a call center.

Having worked at call centers, I can at least be fairly certain that whoever you talked to was already in special hell.

I've been on SSI for years. Most of them do suck.
