I'm curious - are you the anon that has a thing for FTM trans men? The style of secret is similar.

I don't disagree with your secret either way. If only for the different fic that could result rather than the same old.

Heh...no, not that anon! I am actually FtM myself, so yeah there is probably a lot of wish fulfillment in there, mostly because while I enjoy seeing how popular trans male rehashings of characters have become, sometimes I really, really just wanna read a fic where that's normal and not a "thing" with tons of social, romantic and sexual minefields to get through, where it needs to be set up that this is something ~different~ for a cis male character to be attracted to. I find it less jarring when it's like, a best friend pairing or something and they know their friend is trans for awhile beforehand so I feel reasonably sure that they would have an idea of what is going on with their partner's body and they're still attracted so it's less of that terrifying "I'm a dude but I'm not like other dudes and people get rejected for this all the time!" stuff going on in the fic. A lot of being attracted to trans men in RL comes with baggage, whether you're the person attracted to them or the trans guy. :/

So...yeah, I've read a few fics where "cunt boys" I guess are just treated as normal, and that's awesome.

Sorry, this turned into a rant/something a lot more personal than I meant it to get. ^^;;

Don't be sorry, that was interesting to read and not something I've thought about, thanks.

You might get some flak for it because of the vagina = omega thing though. Or maybe not, idk. I can't remember a trans headcanon fic where the trans male character is the top in the slash pairing. And now I want to read some. Hrm.

Thank you!

Yeah, I probably should make this clear that the whole "omega=vagina" thing is just a personal preference.

There are definitely some "trans top" fics around, although I can't say I've read much in my personal fandoms that I enjoyed. It's probably because it reflects an issue that a lot of real trans guys feel. (Topping with a strap-on isn't that physically rewarding, and generally when you're writing smut you want both characters to be getting off. I have no doubt it can be done well, but from what I've seen in my fandoms, I haven't found that magic fic yet.

nayrt but being transmasculine nb, I totally feel you, friend.

Yeah, it definitely sucks sometimes. :/ I've been lucky enough to meet some really awesome people for whom being attracted to transmasculine people was simply part of their attraction to masculine people in general so it wasn't a big deal, but it definitely gets grating when you're reminded constantly that you're either a "fetish" or "I'm only interested in cis men"...arghh.
