To be fair, those kinds of humor are incredibly common in manga and anime to the point of annoying, kinda hard to take a philosophy lesson seriouly when the characters joke about underwears and sexual harassment every five pages. It gets tiring after watching a dozen shows like this and you can end up very elitist about what you watch.

That said, I agree that Chobits is very tame in that regard, as Clamp in general is not very fanservice-y. Chobits is their most raunchy work (not including Miyuki in Wonderland because the whole purpose of that manga is yuri fanservice) and it's still no where near as bad as other things I watched/read. Of course the person you are talking about is very ridiculous to make presumptions about a show from the first episode, and it seems they didn't do research on the authors because honestly, if you know Clamp then you know it's gonna be much more than just fanservice.
