My new job, which consists of interacting with people up to 12 hours a day, won't prevent me from feeling lonely.

I guess I'll have to find another way.

I definitely wouldn't call the interactions superficial, but 1) I always remember (as I should) that I'm not their friend, just a person who's paid to do this stuff, and 2) there's still the coming home and realizing that no one's waiting for you bit.

All my major friendships are now online and they're amazing. I'm not actually sure what my deal is. Maybe I'm just touch-starved. Or maybe it's the January darkness that's getting to me.

DA, this is just something odd that occurred to me so sorry if it sounds too off the wall but have you ever heard of those hug-for-hire people? They're on the up and up but you hire them for like 30 minutes to hug or touch platonically. If you're touch starved, I wonder if that might fill that space for you.

No, it's not too weird :D But I do regularly get hugged as a part of my job, so. I guess if I -am- touch-starved, it's more of a specific craving for hugs from my friends.

Thank you for the advice, though!! I think I'll figure this out eventually.

Aw, I wish I could hug you, too. I get the feeling of craving a specific type of contact and not getting it.
