You seem to be equating rare pairs with crack ships, which is false.

this is true. i have a ship that's canon but still rare in fandom.

Conversely, commonpairsfor which the basis is delusional do not seem to bother OP at all. Delusion is apparently reality if you can get enough people to write for you.

But OP said they understand rare pairs where the characters have a relationship in canon (they didn't specify romantic)

I interpret the secret as them not getting people who ship crack ships that are rare pairs too and they complain others don't share their opinions, that might be delusions if the characters don't even interact.
