It would have made sense for the character, but it also would have been distracting. I want to focus on BB's puppy eyes and not on the fact that he just dropped a F-bomb.

Wouldn't have gotten away with an F bomb in a Disney film anyway, surprised Guardians of the Galaxy got away with as much cursing and rude gestures that they did.

I wonder how much of it (if any) is because of the ratings? I know you can get away with one 'fuck' in a PG-13 movie, but I'm not sure if there are limits on other swears.

I'm a fan of potty mouth Bucky, though tbh I associate it more with younger bratty teen Bucky.

To be fair, he didn't really have many lines in both movies. Also, it's been a while since I read the Winter Soldier arc but I'm pretty sure he barely spoke while he was brainwashed too. (outside of the iconic "Who the hell is Bucky?" line)

So they still have time to introduce his swearing when he inevitably takes over as Cap/gets his own series.

Potty-mouth comic Bucky is great, but I get why it was left out in the movies since they skirt around the PG-13 rating.

Uh...how could they? right now, he doesn't really have a personality. He's still "de-thawing" to figure himself out, hence why we see him in such bad shape in the Civil War trailer.

Before that? He's just a very very dangerous drone being used by Hydra.
