I think you're fine. Your fandom might be different but this appears to be what most people actually want if they aren't outright looking for just porn.

If you're worried about a roller-coaster sort of feeling for readers, nope, don't sweat that at all. If it's an emotional roller-coaster for your characters, that's what your readers should be feeling, too.
