I once had a landlord who had no fictional interests whatsoever. The only thing he did all day was watch political commentators on television, slowly growing angrier and angrier as they blamed everything on the other party. It was actually kind of scary.

I have had similar thoughts. I'm always thinking about stuff, and it's often fandom-related. I have to wonder what people do who aren't in fandom at all. I mean I know they have hobbies, crafts, hiking, animals, TV, hunting, sports, etc. etc. It just seems very different to me and like there wouldn't be as much to fill the void in your mind.

I know that's pretty unfair of me, and I certainly don't judge people who aren't into fandom. I guess it's that thinking of my life without any fannish interests feels...kinda empty, or at least weird.

I wonder this, too.

Seriously, if you're not watching anime or reading fic or RPing, what the hell are you doing?

I just find this so ironic, because people in fandom like to think they're more imaginative than average, but posing this question seriously reveals a massive failure of imagination and a scary short-sightedness.

Omfg, so did I back in the day. And I thought I'd done a pretty deep dive on David Hewlett, but this secret has things I've never seen before o_0

Just imagine how much easier and cheaper it would be doing that today...well, maybe not so much easier, but easier than in 2008 for sure.
