Not that I agree that Rey's a lesbian but...

Why would they need to provide you with ~concrete proof~?

This is fandom. People can see her as a lesbian if they want, they don't have to justify it.

I was only half joking when I said that, but if you want an answer, here's one:

"I SEE her as a lesbian." That's cool, no proof or justification needed for headcanon. See away!

"She DEFINITELY IS a lesbian." Wait, where did that tidbit of information come from? Did I miss something?

Hopefully, that clears up what I was trying to say.

DA - FWIW I knew what you meant. We're talking about people who "know" she's a lesbian despite canon saying otherwise. If you see her as one, that's a different thing.

If they're gonna state that it's a fact that she's a lesbian and that anyone who doesn't think she's a lesbian is wrong and terrible and homophobic, then yeah, they should probably justify it.

It doesn't bother me what other people ship or what they view their sexualities as long as people can stay in their own lane. But if your hiding behind 'she's a lesbian' to justify hating on another ship then she better be canon lesbian otherwise your just trying to hide your asshole and making a mockery of social justice issues.

Headcanoning her as a lesbian =/= going on a brigade saying that anything pairing her with a dude is lesbian erasure and triggers them.

It's one thing when they're doing that with actual lesbian characters...another when there's literally no proof that she's gay at all.
