I saw a fanfic go "He was a demisexual. A demisexual only develops sexual or romantic attraction to someone after they get to know them." It was literally a definition dropped into the middle of a story and it felt so out of place.

If there's one thing I've learned from writing this, it's that I should not be allowed to write porn involving Zecora.

An early favorite (pre-editing/revision):

I'm torn between bursting out laughing at that line and being horrified by it :p. Oh, wow.

Someone was described as a "pompadour potentate".

I actually like this description, assuming it's accurate.

Was it Tony Stark who said that? Because I've read a fic where Tony Stark said that (approximately) and it was just so ridiculously out of character I couldn't finish the fic.

Was it a fic that started out with a decent premise (Steve criticizing inaccurate cliches in military porn?) that suddenly dropped that? Because, if so, yeah, same fic.

See, now I'm sad, because that definitely wasn't the same fic, and now I know there's TWO fics out there where Tony says this kind of shit

You're lucky that was just one sentence. I once read a fic that dropped entire paragraphs of definitions and overviews in mid-action every time the author felt like showing off their knowledge. Which was about seven times a chapter.
