I've been in similar situations in other fandoms

I'm in a smallish fandom and I ship a non-canon that has a large amount of shippers as well as anti-shippers (Mainly because it has some problematic aspects that even I will admit do exist and definitely do exist and should be aknowledged) If I ran into something like this for this ship, Id probably just roll my eyes and just close the tab, partially because #1 there's plenty of actual fanfiction for my specific ship anyway #2 I've honestly seen much more severe hate on other sites and tags. I've literally run into people posting hate in the tag that ranges from "I don't like this and I get kind of annoyed when I see it" to "anyone who ships this is a terrible human being" to stuff that could probably be considered mild death threats (shit like posting a stock image of a person aiming a gun at the viewer and captioning it with "for *name of ship* shippers)
