fuck is this comment?

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe trying to say that the "futa" aren't transwomen, and someone who is into futa wouldn't be willing to date an actual transwoman?

Or possibly someone being rude, from the wording.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
The thing that's weird to me about it is that it seems like it's placing the (intensely fetishized pornographic) category of 'futa' as more important & better than the (actually lived experience and real thing) category of 'transwoman'.

fucking weird as shit

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
IDK, don't most futas also have a vagina under their penis? Or the clit becomes a penis? Futa aren't transwoman....

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
I know

the thing that was weird to me was that the comment read (to me) like "You wish you were a futa, but in fact you are just a [bad, inferior] transwoman". That's what bothered me. Because that seems like a fucked up and wrong attitude.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
I read it as 'in real life most people are weirded out by transwoman'.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
that would still be a kind of fucked up response to op's comment, tbh

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
But it's true.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
2D fetishes =/= 3D fetishes

This is like Fandom 101

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
and my point is that real, actually existing people are more important than 2d fetishes

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
Nah

hope that helps nonny

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Ethically, yes, of course, but that doesn't change people's likes and dislikes. You can't demand people develop an interest in dating real transwomen just because they have certain fetishes in fiction because no one can just change what they like that way.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
That's not what I'm saying

I'm saying that it's fucked up to say "you wish you were a futa"

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
na

Why?

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I guess it's not wrong in itself, if someone really does want it, but saying it in this context is, because it implies that the highest thing the OP could hope to want to be is this specific fetish-desire-object.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
because it's insulting you fucking idiot

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
I agree it's rude, but it's also sort of true. A lot of futa fans wouldn't want the real life equivalent, it's a fantasy.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but that in no way invalidates the things the OP is saying. If anything it only drives home their point. Whereas the comment seems to frame it as, like, something that should be considered an insult to OP.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
Um, okay sorry to butt in here but...oh wow does all this stuff make me laugh. Full disclosure, I am a trans *man* so I'm not going to have the lived experience a trans woman does, but literally every time on Reddit that I've seen guys sexualizing "futas", without fail they post in subs drooling all over /r/TGirls and shit like that. One of the biggest futa fansites is run by a guy who is proud of sleeping with trans women because they're "real life futas", like I agree plenty of guys (and girls) can be into futa without being into trans women, but to everybody acting like there isn't a massive overlap there? Come on.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
There isn't as big as you think, mostly because futas are just women with penises-transwomen have male bodies altered by surgery and or medication, so it doesn't look the same.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-14 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
AYRT

Oh come on, there is a reason "passable" is such a big thing in the trans sex work industry. If you're trying to tell me that a guy who is toooottally into futas isn't going to think a girl like Bailey Jay is hot, you've got me rolling my eyes a little. The evidence is pretty much right in front of you. Go trawl the trans feminine gone wild subs, /r/TGirls, /r/Traps, etc, and click on random users. You start to see a pattern, it's all intermixed. /r/Futanari shows up frequently.

Why is it so hard to believe there's an overlap? Like just the same when I'm not surprised to see that guys who like "cunt boys" think non-op trans men are hot from posts people have made here on F!S, why is it so mystifying to think the opposite is also true?
