'Room' was a tiny little picture so I don't think most people have heard of it outside awards season. Ditto for Brooklyn. And I think with Revenant it's mostly been the hype around DiCaprio's performance.

But The Martian was huge, Mad Max was huge, Bridge of Spies was pretty well-promoted, and I feel like Brooklyn, Spotlight, and The Big Short have been fairly well-promoted and visible for the kind of Oscarbait drama that they are. So idk.

Yeah, I had heard of The Martian and The Revenant and have seen Mad Max, so those are my three. Not sure how I missed the hype on Bridge of Spies, though to be fair I haven't watched television with commercials in like 3 years.

TV commercials were the only place I saw any hype for Bridge of Spies, so that makes sense.

I haven't seen any sort of promotion for Spotlight or the Big Short at all. I've seen more commercials for Room than I have for either one of those.
