I think a lot of people have that - but the fact you think you're doing important work is more than most will achieve.

I dislike that line of reasoning, as though anything mundane is not Important or an achievement.

"Important work" is such a self-aggrandizing phrase. Is a stay at home dad doing housework and raising a kid not doing "important work"? How about a woman who flips burgers all day but pays her rent and bills on time, enabling her landlady and various businesses to have a steady income? Almost everyone will achieve some form of important work in their lifetimes.
