There seems to be a sudden upsurge of secrets about Harry Potter fans being tools! Not that this is anything new, but I thought the fandom was supposed to have "died" several years ago I wish.

OP, sometimes people who were horrible in childhood mature and become decent adults; and sometimes the opposite happens, and decent kids turn into closed-minded idiots once they're 'grown up' and think they now know everything. Unfortunately the latter thing seems to have happened with your friend. I'm sorry, and I wish you luck finding more sensible intelligent people to fill your life with instead.
