Is Hermione conformist?

Either way, I'm sorry your friend is acting that way. It sounds narrow-minded and annoying.

Unrelated: I never realized what a beautiful drawing of Fawkes that is. I love seeing book cover art fully spread out like that. <3

I think by nature Hermione is very conformist. And she's definitely not a think-outside-the-box type. It takes her friendship with Harry and Ron (and maybe just being in Gryffindor house in general) to get her into the mindset that sometimes it's a good thing to take risks and break rules.

I don't think being non-rebellious by nature is at all the same thing as being conformist. Hermione frequently stands up to people she disagrees with and fights against norms she doesn't like.
