It depends on the beard and the face. A fuller beard can hide a weak chin in some cases.

I get it, though. I always wear my hair past my chin because I'm sensitive about it. But I agree. Well, actually, a vandyke does add some definition without being a chin strap. Chin straps are never a good idea, ever.

I went and looked up a Van Dyke and it appears that technically it is the type my brother has. I always just thought of it as goatee.
