I'm hoping Episode 8 can redeem TFA and its characters a bit but they've given us no reason for 29 year old Kylo Ren to have turned (given his loving parents and uncle) and I feel no sympathy for a man who angsts because he can't be evil enough.

I won't forgive them if they 'redeem' Kylo

nayrt

What if he has a Vader-style deathbed redemption? I think that's the easiest way to redeem him - he was sorry, and then he died, thus avoiding the awkward "take responsibility for what you've done and earn back peopel's trust" stage of redemption. Honestly, if they do redeem him, that's the route I see them taking.

I don't want him redeemed really, but if it makes Leia happy then I'm all for it. That woman has been through too much.

He was manipulated from the shadows by Snoke since childhood? It doesn't always take a shitty upbringing for someone to go bad.

I have no sympathy for him either but...

Waaaaaaay to miss the point. He literally says in the film that Han sucked as a dad. Did Han love Ben? Yes. Is Ben aware of that love? No. He feels like his parent abandoned him when they sent him with Luck and resents them.
