[Law & Order SVU]

I feel ya. It's Criminal Minds for me, but same concept.

Ditto on CM. Especially in regards to the way the characters help each other deal with, as well as bond over, the tough stuff they go through and see. Being reminded there are people in law enforcement/the justice system who truly care about what they do is nice, too.

Plus, some of the comfort from watching shows with dark content could be due to how it's sort of a way to help put whatever stress you're going through in perspective sometimes. And even in dark shows like this, there are moments of humor with the characters bantering and joking, and moments of hope and optimism whenever cases end on a good note. That's certainly comforting :).

The cast was the best part of that show from the beginning. I stopped watching not long after Reed's girlfriend gets shot because the writing kind of suffered. But I still miss the camaraderie of the group as a whole.

I watch a lot of crime shows for my comfort viewing too, OP. I'm not sure why they make me feel better when the subject matter is often grim, but it does.

I've only started watching SVU in the past year, and I totally agree with you. There's this sense of...safety, I guess, that those characters make me feel. I didn't expect to like them all so much, because at first I was only watching for Raul Esparza. Now it's become one of my favourite shows.

I get it. My personal comfort viewing is the movie Sleepers, wherein a bunch of underage boys in juvie are raped by Kevin Bacon.

Wow...I haven't seen that movie for years, but I remember being really disturbed by it. I haven't looked at Kevin Bacon the same since.

My husband and I have diverse tastes, but we can always agree on SVU. I think it's like wallpaper in our house by now, LOL. Watching it now.

I wish there were more episodes with Tutuola and Munch doing more
