People want him redeemed because the movie was hinting that it's going to happen the whole time. Redemption is a major theme of Star Wars. Anakin was eventually redeemed. I don't ship Reylo and I don't think it's going to be canon, but if people don't expect or want the villain to be redeemed, they're in the wrong fandom.

I don't know how redeemed I consider Vader. He did one right thing in a lifetime of wrongs. And he did it for his family.

Kylo killed his family. Why would he get the same treatment when he made the opposite decision?

Vader pretty much killed his wife and also tortured his daughter for information when she was his prisoner (remember that droid with the needle?)

I think Kylo will be alright.

If he gets a redemption, I expect it to be a deathbed redemption. So he'll be alright, and then he'll expire immediately afterward.

Like, whether or not you think Vader was redeemed, Star Wars 1000% considers him redeemed.

LOL @ so many fucking people not embracing the Star Wars convention that giving in to the dark side fundamentally changes a person and makes it harder and harder for them to do good but doesn't completely erase who they are. That's why Anakin's redemption was supposed to mean something when without those fantasy aspects it would've been way too little way too late. This was how I understood the story when I was eight years old and I didn't grow up to believe Hitler just needed someone to love him right.
