Your favorite means of (non-fandom) escape

Hot beverage and a book, usually, but the book's just an excuse to roll myself up in blankets like a cocoon, daydream and take a nap. You?

Napping. Listening to music. Daydreaming (though most often my daydreams are fandom related).

My fantasy life could give Walter Mitty a run for his money.

There's a fandom for everything these days, so it's hard to think of anything.

I don't think there's a fandom for The Waning of the Middle Ages yet, but that's one of my favorite winter books.

Listening to music or reading a good book, basically. Occasionally I'll draw something, too-that can be rather relaxing.

Others have mentioned napping. That is also a good thing :).

When I'm really down and anxious, especially at night when I can't sleep, I either listen to horror podcasts or an episode of the children's audio book series I loved the most when I was a kid. It's partly the sound drowning out the thoughts and worries and part engaging (horror) or nostalgic (audio book) enough to distract me.

Also, tea makes everything better.

That's my plan for tomorrow. A nice cup of hot chocolate and a book while watching the snow (hopefully) fall.

Reading, listening to music, playing games on my tablet or PC, taking a nice, hot bath, doing crossword/word puzzles, day dreaming.

Shopping. Especially for clothes and/or beauty products.

It's not exactly an intellectually enriching hobby, but I love it. I'm not in debt, however, so I don't really feel bad about how much I like shopping (just a little bit defensive, lol).

I love watching Youtube videos, especially Let's Plays and ASMR videos. I also enjoy the occasional clip from RuPaul's Drag Race.

I also like doing chores around the house, especially if my anxiety is flaring. It's soothing, doesn't take much brain power, and gives me something physical to focus on besides whatever's bothering me.

I also enjoy reading, writing and playing video games when I can focus on something long enough to do it.

Go out and hang around the shops a bit, buy a couple of boxes of tea, eat sushi, contemplate Lego - that sort of thing.
