Isn't it just? I honestly think fandom's changed over the years. I don't recall this kind of furore over hero/villian ships before. I mean, there were shipping wars and ship bashing, certainly, but never under the guise of "You're problematic!"

Like they can't even conceive that someone might ship Rey as dominant lmao.

I also think it depends on the fandom, though. Hero/villain ships just weren't that big a thing in the Star Wars fandom until now (other than the small Anakin/Palpatine ship that was its own tiny corner of the fandom that most people ignored). Honestly, other than a few Han/Luke and Leia/Luke shippers, most OT fans seemed to ship canon. And then EU canon. The prequel fandom shipped either canon or jedi master/padawan ships for the most part. So Kylo/Rey is a new thing for this fandom.
