tbh anon, I've read a contemporary novel recently and instantly regretted it because it was written badly, had a terribly stupid ending and needed to have the protagonist fall in love with someone.

...kinda sounds like it could also be a YA novel, doesn't it? Novels for "adults" can be badly written as well.

Also... why do you care so damn much? Don't you have more pressing matters in your life to attend to? Jeez.
