Your most recent fictional crushes

(Anonymous) 2016-01-24 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Any fictional charmers caught your fancy lately?

Poe Dameron, best and sexiest pilot in the galaxy, incredibly compassionate and caring human being.

I saw a tumblr post saying that Poe had flaws and I'm still searching.

I don't know where it came from but I've been developing a crush on Tony Stark.

I do know where it came from; it came from the 1872 run :P

Elias Ainsworth from The Ancient Magus Bride. I've only seen panels from the manga and some fan art on tumblr, though, but damn is he cute!

Me too! That manga is so amazing and the relationship between the characters is great!

Extremely late to the party, but Bertie Wooster. I don't usually like the idiot character, but Bertie is so sweet and well-meaning, I can't help liking him. Doesn't hurt that he's played by Hugh Laurie in the most famous adaptation, but I do prefer Bertie in the books, because it's his style of narration that I find particularly charming.

Before that I fell in love with another Wodehouse character, Baxter from Blandings. He means so well and tries so hard, my heart completely goes out to him.

Don't know about a full-on crush, but the last character to make me stop and go "hnng" was Kureto Hiiragi from Owari no Seraph (the one in the middle).

Hot damn.

Illya Kuryakin. I didn't even find Armie Hammer all that attractive before The Man From UNCLE, goddammit.

Geralt from The Witcher. Second game was free on Xbox, now I have a crush. Before that, it was Death from Darksiders 2.

I've been contemplating doing a tumblr image series on "literary loves" for February, but I'm probably too late and too lazy to actually do it. So here is my list of 29 characters I have crushed on or adored in my lifetime, because I already went to the trouble of creating this list and goddammit I'm going to put it to use.

My all-time favorite is Henry Rackham from The Crimson Petal and the White.

After that, in no particular order:

Christopher Heron (The Perilous Gard), Smilla Jasperson (Smilla's Sense of Snow), Dorothea Brooke (Middlemarch), Eugene Wrayburn (Our Mutual Friend, Nastasya Filipovna (The Idiot)

Jim Prideaux (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), William H.R. Rivers (a real person; character in Regeneration), Maud Bailey (Possession), Mrs. DeWinter (Rebecca), Roger Hamley (Wives and Daughters)

Tony Fremont (The Robber Bride), James Longstreet (real person; character in The Killer Angels), Alexei Karenin (my secret shame; Anna Karenina), Sansa Stark (A Song of Ice and Fire), Stannis Baratheon (also ASOIAF)

Lady Dedlock (Bleak House), John Jarndyce (also Bleak House), Henry Tilney (Northanger Abbey), Bertie Wooster and Reginald Jeeves (PG Wodehouse's writings)

Mr. Serle (Mina), Jane Eyre, Ada Monroe (Cold Mountain), Lucy Waring (Moonraker's Bride), Dounya Raskolnikova (Crime and Punishment)

Gilbert Blythe (Anne of Green Gables, etc), Stubb (Moby Dick), and Alma Winemiller (Summer and Smoke)

Honorable mention: Ishmael (as narrator, Moby Dick)

He's just very cute (also a little shit even if the fandom treat him like he's a perfect angel) and I love that he works so hard to do better ALSO FRECKLESSSS I fancy people like him irl too

Still totally in love with Quiet. Apparently they have fixed the game so I can get her back if I let her story play out, but I just can't bring myself to remove that butterfly from the emblem.

Kivan, the vengful elven archer in Baldur's Gate. It's not even the canon version I've taken a liking to, but the mod version for BG2.
