SfDebris

Does anyone else follow SfDebris's "opinionated" review series? If you do, how do you think he is getting on? I think he has gotten very boring recently, too much anime with that cancer kid, the pointy nose gang, and the lesbian superpower girl. Plus that kinda generic Dune stuff, where he's already reviewed one adaptation and is now doing another. I wish he'd expand his policy on "its all been said before" from Star Wars to cover that. If it isn't that, it is a steady diet of Stargate instead. I wish he'd go back to Farscape, Enterprise, and Doctor Who. Those were really fun reviews, but it isn't what his Patreon patrons from spacebattles.com are pushing for now.

It isn't (entirely) his Patreon's fault. It was the selfish bastard that paid for over 200 hours worth of anime because of their affluenza when he was really stuck for cash. Stick that with his six weeks enforced leave b/c blip shuts down and you have a bad situation all around. I'll agree he's been on a dry streak since end/November.

I commissioned four episodes of Princess Tutu in Christmas of 2014, on the grounds that Madoka Magica proved he could handle a subversive magical girl show and Full Moon proved he could handle something really, really girly. All four episodes are still in the queue to be gotten to eventually. That really says all that needs to be said about how massive his backlog is getting. (I honestly love some of his more out-there reviews like Full Moon, but I hope he doesn't work himself into the ground doing all these requests.)

I wish he'd go on record with how long his back log is, because I donated for some stuff back in 2012 and all he'll say is that he is getting to it.

Holy crap. That explains all that legal stuff about how a donation doesn't obligate him to do a specific review for you. I figured that was just a protection in case someone asked for Corpse Party or something. Maybe he's hoping we'll eventually forget we donated.

Especially since he is now on Patron or whatever it is called. Seems like those guys are calling the shots now. Talk about abandoning your fangroup.

I haven't watched any of his stuff in probably a couple years. I have found some of his reviews to be really, really good and insightful, others not so much.
