I think OP actually said they don't empathize with badly written characters, especially one specific form of bad writing that gets on his/her nerves. If you hang out on reader-opinion forums you'll find that's not an uncommon thing-- there are plenty of readers who can put up with any number of flaws in a story, but have one or two that make them put the book down. Or hit the backbutton.
