Sometimes it's best not to even try to justify why you like what you like. For one thing, when you rush to come up with explanations, your roommate has won because you're already on the defensive. It also buys into the idea that you have to justify liking things or explain to people until they understand you. You don't have to do any of that. Just shrug and act puzzled as to why anyone would care about what you do with your spare time.
