Honestly, if someone was BPD and not getting help for it, I'd drop that friendship like a hot potato. It's just not worth it.

As for your guy friend... draw yourself some firm boundaries and stick with them. You're describing him quite diplomatically, but essentially, he's a selfish dick. When he wants company, he expects you to be there, but when you want company he ghosts you without a single qualm. That's a dick move.
