Is that a repressed memory really, or just you telling yourself something scary was a dream until you realized it wasn't and had fuzzy memories since it had been a long time? As opposed to the whole "I had NO MEMORY of this event, now I remember it happening" narrative? You always remembered it, you just narrativized it differently. /my two cents

I for one have had memories I completely forgot until I didn't forget anymore. I remembered being bullied, vaguely mostly. But I didn't remember all the details. And there was one kid who sexually assaulted me who I didn't remember until one day I remembered it as I was talking about other things he did to me. No one had ever suggested to me that I was assaulted. No therapist was pressuring me or even asking me any questions at all. So I don't think it was a fake memory.

I don't think so either! I was only saying that "remembering" something as a dream isn't the same as the sort of ~traditional repressed memory story, which is more like yours, because anon did remember it, just differently.
