While I agree that SU's tendency towards slice-of-life-ish episodes is not for everyone, it does actually have a plot, and it does get there.
I couldn't really get into it, but I don't see how this is worse than the monster-of-the-week that we see so often on shows. At least this one has actual character development over time, rather than characters being 'reset' at the end of each episode and nothing every changing.

I don't even like slice of life, and I'm not crazy about SU, but you my friend, are not making an apt, nor honest, comparison here.
