My favorite conspiracy theory, because it is the only one that I believe is true, is that the US government and specially specifically the FBI under Hoover, was involved in MLK Jr.'s death. A civil court actually found enough evidence to award the family money. And considering all I've studied of the history of the period I find this completely believable.
