Re: Writing Process
As for writing (I write fanfic)? I have only ever outlined one story and it's multi-part and was the most general of outlines.
I don't write in an entirely linear fashion. I do tend to start at the beginning, but I'll often think of something for later in the story and write that (or part of it), go back and write the connecting scenes, write the ending, etc. Then I'll edit it, send it to my beta, re-edit and post it when I think it's ready.
As for ideas? I will sometimes hand write stuff at work. I don't usually jot ideas down--if they're good enough I'll remember them, if not? I won't. I tend to get some good ideas on the commute to and from work.... I should write everyday (or at least more often) but I don't.
