Re: Writing Process

The only time I kept a successful journal was the first year of my Library Tech course. And I journaled fairly regularly on LJ...now, I don't do much of it since LJ is almost dead and tumblr really isn't good for that. I did try to do a handwritten journal last year, on a daily basis, but that petered out, mostly cus I felt like shit and my entries tended to be very negative.

As for writing (I write fanfic)? I have only ever outlined one story and it's multi-part and was the most general of outlines.

I don't write in an entirely linear fashion. I do tend to start at the beginning, but I'll often think of something for later in the story and write that (or part of it), go back and write the connecting scenes, write the ending, etc. Then I'll edit it, send it to my beta, re-edit and post it when I think it's ready.

As for ideas? I will sometimes hand write stuff at work. I don't usually jot ideas down--if they're good enough I'll remember them, if not? I won't. I tend to get some good ideas on the commute to and from work.... I should write everyday (or at least more often) but I don't.
