I've seen some Snape fans who have huge hate boners for Sirius but those were usually Snupin shippers so

Also they tend to ignore that Snape obviously gave as good as he got and he was being an incredible dumbass for even considering sneaking out to find out about a werewolf instead of staying well inside Hogwarts where any sensible person would.

If someone who hates your guts "tips you off" about something, why would you in the least go for it instead of doing the exact 180 degree opposite?
