I can't help think of my POV on characters, both in fanfic and games. They aren't me. They are a character I make up. In games, sometimes the way the game functions can inform me of who they are and give me ideas of what is going on in their headspace, but they are still not me.

Understanding my characters is not something that has to be restricted by gender.

Exactly. I don't WANT them to be me, because that would be boring. I want them to be a character in their own right.
