Pseudo-konomiyaki. One of the two recipes I dish out when I really don't feel like cooking.

Why pseudo-konomiyaki? Okonomiyaki is dead easy.

I've been curious about trying okonomiyaki for a while now but I can't build myself up to making it. It seems like a free style type of recipe best understood by a cook with a solid cooking foundation but not, you know, a cook with NO cooking foundation...like me.

Couldn't be further from the truth. If you can make a pancake you can make okonomiyaki. It's a street food in Japan for a reason.

Now... having access to the proper ingredients (beni shoga for example) might be an issue if you don't live somewhere with a lot of Asian grocery stores, but I still contend that if you follow the steps in this video is is really, really simple to do.

Maybe I'll give it a shot. I'm a terrible cook but it can only get better, right? Thank you for the video. :)
