Well, I saw that video and have to agree. It was an extremely shitty money grab and they literally framed it like their reaction videos were a boon to humanity and they were doing the world a favour by "letting" people use "their" format for making content.

It was the most soulless cash grab I've seen from any youtuber in ages.

It's a basic business model. I am successful. Other people want to be successful. I can let them mooch off my fame while I take a cut of their profit. I don't know why everyone is so up in arms over this.

Because traditionally this hasn't been a business model that youtube has ascribed to, especially not from a channel that is so wildly successful already.

Except people have been making 'reaction videos' forever, long before fine bros. It's like King trying to trademark the word Candy.

Did you know people sang songs before Elvis? Being first doesn't always mean you're the most successful or well-known.

Elvis never tried to copyright rock and roll.

The Fine Bros aren't copyrighting reaction videos, if anyone would bother to read their statements they clearly state that. Just their brand of such, which is entirely fair, because they have made a name for themselves in that area, and they have a specific format for their content.

Yes. Not doing that is what they're doing.

I don't think you understand how branding works.

I don't think you understand how words work, so this conversation is going nowhere.
