I would have killed for Edith/Gregson or even Edith/Anthony Strallan (which is part of STEAMM - Sybil/Tom, Edith/Anthony and Mary/Matthew). Seriously, they put so much effort into how Edith prefers older men, and... She winds up with a guy her own age?! I'm also annoyed with how Mary basically got away with every little catty comment and insult and nearly ruining Edith's life. It's to the point where I can't watch anything else Michelle Dockery is in because she makes me so irrationally angry.

Eh. They were cute, but he was married, Edith would never have gone for a married guy for real. I think she was just swept away by being liked and useful and good at what she was doing.

I think my main reasons for not really warming up to Bertie are a) he was sort of the asspull-stand-in solution for yet another dead spouse and that thing had gotten pretty boring by that point and b) the actor is the guy who voiced the British version of the male Inquisitor in Dragon Age Inquisition and it drove me up the wall any time he opened his mouth because I was so used to that voice belonging to my Inquisitor. It was weird.
