(Anonymous) 2016-02-04 03:20 am (UTC)(link)Medical conditions that can make CICO not apply include chronic stress, Cushing's syndrome, PCOS and hypothyroidism. Not to mention a variety of medications -- often types of birth control and depression meds -- that also hurt the body's ability to lose weight by the Calories In, Calories Out mantra.
And breaking down muscle is just something the body does when it's undernourished for long periods, as often happens when people hear "calories in, calories out is all it takes!" and unknowingly take it to stupid levels.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-04 12:28 pm (UTC)(link)You can't claim that CICO doesn't work just because some idiots don't understand what healthy eating is and use crash diets instead. That's a whole another ballpark and has nothing to do with CICO. That's just people hurting themselves by being stupid.
