For various US fictional shows

Teen shows: Most kids at high school (and most high schools) aren't like that.
Legal shows: The law doesn't work that fast.
Crime shows: Evidence doesn't work like that. Crime labs don't work like that. Some to all of the police procedures don't like that (depends a little on the show).
Shows featuring geniuses: Science doesn't usually work like that.
Comedies: Yes, there are some people that are that obnoxious in real life, but I think they're in the minority.
General: Most people who work generally spend actual time at work. Many people with kids often spend time with their kids - the kids don't just disappear off into the ether until they are plot-worthy (and vice-versa for parents in teen shows).

Oh, and the reality shows are sometimes the furthest thing from actual reality.
