I'm fairly sure that's not the aspect of it that appeals to people. I think for most people that's the aspect that they gloss over and ignore in the process of romanticizing the situation. Maybe some people wouldn't mind it, I don't know, but like... I strongly suspect that's not the relevant part of the fantasy, you know?

Maybe? Except I think it kind of fits in with the fact that 90% at least of published romances have the male dom/female sub dynamic even if it isn't BDSM. And all men in romances have to be "alphas" as if that is an actual thing. Honestly I don't get it, but I think it fits into some people's submissive fantasies?
