Yeah. I hate the way that the trope assumes that all women are natural mothers (it also assumes that all mothers will be the same in their expression of maternal feelings, which is just so stupid).

Exactly. It is so ridiculous. With my parents, my dad was always the more nurturing one. My mother wasn't a bad mother, her parenting style just looked nothing like anything I've ever seen on tv (except in fathers).

Yeah. My mom was always really casual and chill. I don't have a problem with nurturing women but I'd just like to see other types of mothers in fiction.
