Re: Roosh: Expect triggery stuff to come up, but it's not what I'm talking about

MRAs =/= PUA. And I think it is reeeeeeeaaaaaaalllll fucking stupid to say Men's Rights Activist don't care about men.

It is almost like saying that feminists don't care about women because TERFs and Radfems exist.

Or that all people that play videogames are sexist pieces of shit Gamergaters.

Who are the reasonable people who identify as MRAs?

Probably every person who identifies as a feminist but doesn't show up in the news as fuck head. You don't hear about them because they are actually working to change shit instead of making asses of themselves.

So basically what you're saying is that somehow all the good people who identify as MRAs just never show up in any discussion or argument or discourse about MRAs?

that is stupid as fuck

sorry but it is stupid as fuck

No, that you only hear about the assholes. Just like the only cops you hear about are the bad cops. Or how you only hear about tumblr in the news when someone was driven to suicide or some shit.

Re: Roosh: Expect triggery stuff to come up, but it's not what I'm talking about

But, no, that's what I'm saying. Like, okay, maybe I only hear about the bad ones - then where are the good ones? Surely they're out there somewhere? I'm trying to remedy the fact that I only hear about the bad ones so point me to them.

If you're saying that they refuse to ever talk about why they identify as MRAs, I think that would be intensely stupid of them, and I find it hard to believe you.

Shouldn't yo7, then, as a man who is Not Like Them, step it up and be more vocal about how wrong it is and how you're Not Like Them?

Me? I like to think I'm pretty reasonable. I also argue for women's rights, but I acknowledge, and try to highlight, that there are gaps in our society through which men fall.

In my experience this "There are no good MRA's" mindset tends to come from a circular line of thinking. MRA's are all terrible, so anyone who identifies as an MRA is by default terrible, thus proving that all MRA's are all terrible.

Who are the reasonable people who identify as Feminists?

All I see in the news are dick-heads bullying scientists because of their shirts, and crazy measuring the width of mens legs on the tube.

Who are the reasonable people who identify as Muslims?

All I see in the news are Loonatics cheering 9-11, and even more lunatics threatening the rest of the world.

Could it perhaps be that the worst of any group of people is more likely to come to public attention than the majority of that group?

Seriously, given the up-hill battle feminism had and still to some degree has with public perception of their goals and philosophies, Given how much work needed to be done just to convince people that feminism and man-hating are not synonymous, you would think a lot more feminists might be not so quick to buy into the wide spread belief about how a group with interests in human rights "Doesn't really care about getting rights, they just want to take rights away from us because they're all (wo)man-haters"

While you're not wrong that MRAs aren't necessarily PUAs, there is some overlap. I admit I'm mostly using MRA as an umbrella term for the overall "manosphere" though. Yes, there are a few legit groups -- some father's rights groups, etc. -- that genuinely advocate for the cause of men, but most of the so-called "men's rights movement" seem to operate on the idea that it's really women who run the world and "feminazis" are out to keep men down. That's why they bang so hard on stuff like false rape accusations.

Do you have statistics about "most" or are you just talking our your ass?

Also, there is overlap? So what? There is also overlap between people who play games and Gamergaters. I guess that makes you a member of Gamergate!

I was going to argue with you but then I realized that's exactly what you want and statistics don't really matter to you, so uh, have a nice night.

that's the experience of most people who deal with said movements. do you have any evidence that would suggest they're wrong?
