As much as it kind of squicks me out when I see someone talking about a female character in extremely misogynist terms, it actually squicks me out more that in some fandoms, you almost can't say anything bad about a female character without a bunch of people declaring you a horrible misogynist and a disgrace to fandom.

So so actual misogyny is better to you than people being touchy over criticism of female characters (due mostly to the huge amount of misogyny that tends to come out in discussions of female characters)?

Lol, no, the actual misogyny is when people go after real women because they dare to dislike a fictional character. Like, calm the fuck down. Gender equality will not be won or lost based on whether you can intimidate and bully this one individual into silence about their feelings regarding a fictional text.
