Re: Roosh: Expect triggery stuff to come up, but it's not what I'm talking about

I think part of what's infuriating to me is that if the stats on murder, rape, and domestic and social violence were gender-flipped, I honestly believe men, as a whole, would see it as a 100% legitimate reason to deny women basic rights. It would be a "necessity" and "for the good of society" that women be kept under tight control.

So no, I don't agree with OP. I don't believe in taking rights away from men. But I do understand where OP's anger is coming from, and I think their question/comment deserves a considered reply, not just dismissal and ridicule.

I agree with you that it would likely happen. We both agree I would hope, that doing so would make them complete dicks.

I understand where OP's anger if real would be coming from, but it's not wrong to call compare them to complete dicks for it considering they'd be calling for the same thing.

Afaik, domestic violence, at the very least, is at about 50/50.

DA

This article, though limited in scope, sums up the situation fairly well, IMO.

Most relevant quote:

"CAFE cites a 2009 Statistics Canada survey that found an estimated 601,000 women and 585,000 men were victims of spousal violence.

But that stat is based on self-reported violence. And the same study found women were more than twice as likely to report injuries, and that women report more serious violence — being sexually assaulted, beaten, choked or threatened with a gun or knife.

'Women are more likely to experience violence in an intimate relationship [by] many, many times,' said Todd Minerson of the White Ribbon Campaign, a group that organizes men and boys to take action against violence against women."
