Re: Tropes that can ruin a fic for you

I don't know if there's a trope name for this but characters having inexplicable sexual experience or a rich sexual history

b/c the fandom I'm in is an anime about middle school students

I don't think it's completely unreasonable for the pairing to be having sex in the end but if you're telling me they've both had multiple partners and have complex kinky bedroom desires at 14, no

I agree with this. But also the opposite as well. Just saw a fic for my OTP recently where one of the characters hadn't even ever masturbated or orgasmed and had to be taught everything by the other character and was completely shocked by the feelings. Which, though canon doesn't have anything about sex in it, seemed completely out of character to me, especially because the character who in canon is powerful and arrogant has a way with words was shy and retiring. It was just wrong.

Oh god, I forgot about this one. Same here.

I'm just getting into Merlin fandom and I keep running into this. Like, did we watch the same show? The one where Merlin has like zero romantic partners at all? Where's this extensive sexual history coming from, where he's slept with half the knights and a third of the servants and is just so suave???

Or in Dragon Age. Dorian Pavus or Zevran or Sera having lots of experience, sure. That's practically canon. But Cullen? Alistair?

This is one of the reasons I have given up on the Haikyuu!! fandom. So many super porn star teens.
