I took it for depression/anxiety at my therapist's recommendation for a few months. I did start to do better, though I don't know how much of that was attributable to therapy and how much to the drug--or for that matter, how much was the drug helping me get better enough to be more receptive to the therapy.

It wasn't terribly expensive, so I would definitely consider it worth a try, as long as you check for drug interactions first. (I had to stop using it once I got on birth control, and my adjustment period there was a whole new bag of crazy, but I couldn't say if that was more about the birth control itself or the St. John's wort.)

Actually, yes, what the previous commenter said--do check with your doctor first for potential interactions, etc.
