Well-adjusted child abuse survivors

Matilda!
Re: Well-adjusted child abuse survivors
The Dresden Files has a protagonist who was abused as a child. (His foster father used to hit him with baseballs to make him learn to magically shield). He's pretty well-adjusted.
The Hunger Games has Peeta, who turned out alright, but he's not the main POV character and it's not focused on like at all, so IDK if it would count.
There's really not a lot. It doesn't tend to come up with characters unless it's to explain how/why they have some psychological issue.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-06 06:07 am (UTC)(link)Unfortunately, CM doesn't really delve into its characters' lives often. Only when it might make for a good story. So I doubt it's worth watching 10 years worth of show for a handful of relevant episodes.

Trish in Jessica Jones.
I would argue Parker from Leverage, even if she is a bit odd and a thief.
