(Anonymous) 2016-02-06 05:59 am (UTC)(link)On the other hand, Ratched systematically abuses her patients long before McMurphy shows up. She is in a literal position of power over them. And not only that, she wins in the end. She lobotomizes McMurphy. Shylock doesn't win, he loses everything. I do think the text against Ratched is very sexist and McMurphy is terrible, but I don't think your conclusion of what happens to both Ratched and Shylock "in the end" isn't a fair representation.
Overall, it's an alright comparison, but not a great one? idk I'd read an english paper about this though
