I had no clue that I was supposed to get offended when someone calls me a Yank.

Heck, the only reason I might be offended is because I'm very much a Southerner, and down here, "Yank" refers exclusively to Nortnerners (and is usually used in a very joking manner, like laughing about how Yanks don't know how to spice food properly).

Even then, I wouldn't be so much offended as "Um. That's not right..." It's like calling me a Northerner.

Most likely, I'd just laugh about it.

I'd figure "limey" would be more potentially insulting, but even then...

LOL - that's when my boyfriend gets annoyed, as he's from Alabama. :3 I'm a Missourian, so really, I could go either way and choose to not let it fuck with my head. Words only have the power you give them and "Yank" has so many other dirty connotations that I like to keep in mind. :D
