Also, please do remember that it's not your responsibility to take care of your mother - especially if you are still a teenager. Everything I said still stands: don't force her to confront this part of her past, and don't try to force her to see it your way. But if trying to be there for her in a more subtle, gentle, accepting way feels like too much for you, that's okay too. There's nothing wrong with just focusing on your own life and letting this go.
